Yoga

Yoga – unite your mind body and spirit to find more calm, clarity and confidence in your daily life.

You may have heard of Yoga but do you know just how beneficial it is to practice this ancient form of exercise on a regular basis? Yoga is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices which originated in ancient India, and the word means to unite. By uniting the breath with movement, this helps you to become more present and relaxed. Through gentle movement and breathing exercises Yoga helps to develop physical flexibility, mental calm and spiritual awareness.

My name is Mark Woolfenden and I teach Hatha Yoga. My Yoga journey was borne out of a need to improve my physical wellbeing. Working as an HGV driver I spent many hours in the same position every day, leaving me with aches, pains and fatigue. I decided to try a local Yoga class and have never looked back! Practicing Yoga regularly eased away aches and pains, helping me to develop a calmer and more positive outlook.

When practicing Yoga the muscles work hard but in a relaxed state, giving you flexibility and an increased physical strength. Yoga will help you to develop:

• A good strong core

• A flexible back

• Toned legs, arms and shoulders

• A calm mind and body

• Increased self awareness

I am also an Acupressure Massage Therapist and Reiki Master. Acupressure works in a similar way to Osteopathy, targeting painful areas quickly and effectively with gentle touch.

Thank you for taking an interest in joining me in a Hatha yoga class.

Yoga is more than a fitness session. It is a way of life. In the class, I shall try to bring in some of the true spirit of yoga, teaching you meditation techniques, breathing exercises and advice on diet if required.
